Pressure switches or pressure sensors are in use for years now and they are used in a variety of applications in different industries. The primary function of industrial heavy-duty mechanical pressure switch is to provide systems with electrical feedback in response to calculating a rise or fall in fluid pressure. With regard to the chosen set point of operation, a pressure switch is usually stable. Depending on the application, pressure switches can be of different types. In automotive engineering, the use of hydraulic switches is quite common. For compressors and pumps, pneumatic switches are used. What kind of switch is the right fit for you depends on a variety of factors, such as the switch’s cycle speed and life, pressure range, accuracy, number of points, deadband, housing type, state- electromechanical or solid, etc.

 

 Non-adjustable pressure switches use fluid pressure inside a chamber in order to activate a physical mechanism that triggers two contacts within the switch device, which either opens or closes the connected apparatus. As a part of factory manufacture, the pressure point is pre-set and cannot be adjusted. Electronic or adjustable pressure switches, on the other hand, use electronic signals to trigger the switch, and usually provide a secondary signal to check the pressure within the designated chamber. Although switch actuation points are generally determined during the factory manufacture, however, they can be adjusted when required.
